S510 - is i7-6700k possible

Hi

As the topic says, I've been using i7-6700 in my S510 and been very happy with it. Can I use a i7-6700k in stead?

Thanks.

Best regards,

Jens

Re: S510 - is i7-6700k possible

Hi jensjuul,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

On a bare structure, there is a good probability that I7-6700k version would work.

But among OEM machines this may not be a guaranteed upgrade. BIOS whitelist do not include offering for the K version in terms of compatible part for the S510 as shown here in parts lookup.

Not much confirmed upgrades case for this also from fellow members in the Community so it can be ideal to have it tested first before any purchase.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards
