It depends on what you want to do. Do you want to install VMWare Workstation or VMWare Player and have several guest machines that you can run under the Windows host ? I think it can be possible if you have an i5 processor machine.
I also recommend using Virtualbox (virtualbox.org) which is free and open source to run guest VMs in your machine.
