What is this ?

When starting a backup with Acronis, in addition to the backup from "C"  I see something called

SERVICEV001

What is this and should I also back it up?

Re: What is this ?

I made the recovery CDs as soon as I got the computer.

Do I need to back up SERVICEV001?

Re: What is this ?

So if I restore an Acronis image copy without a restore of SERVICEV001, I could no longer run R&R?

Re: What is this ?

you can use acronis it may even backup the service partition as well...however in the eventuality that you start using a new hdd the restore cd's will come handy in creating the service partition
