Slow data transfer!

I am wondering why downloading pictures from my Sd card + reader is so slow. First I thought it was my sd card reader but bought a new one, still have the same problem. When i transfer pictures to my wifes apple it goes really fast. it used to be like that on my Lenovo as well.

Who can help?

Thanks

Martijn

Re:Slow data transfer!

Hello Redjack.

Welcome to the community.

Sorry to read about the troubles that you're having with the laptop's data transfer. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

1. Update BIOS and Drivers: Please make sure that your system has the latest BIOS and driver updates via Lenovo Vantage app.

2. Update Windows: Check if there are any pending Windows Updates that needs to be installed.

3. Check USB Ports: Try using a different USB port on your Lenovo laptop. Sometimes, certain ports may have different performance characteristics.

4. Performance Settings: Make sure your laptop is set to high-performance mode. You can adjust this in the power settings.

5. Test with Another Device: If possible, test the SD card and reader on another device to ensure they are functioning correctly.

Let us know how it goes.

Re:Slow data transfer!

Hey Rodney,

Thanks for your quick response!

Unfortunately all off your possible solutions are not speeding up the data transfer and like I said on my wives Laptop it's superfast.

It's transferring data with a speed of 20mbs sometimes even as low as 13mbs from all ports (my SD card is capable of 160mbs)! But ussually I use the USB-C.

System and Windows are all up to date.

Hope you have another solution?

Re:Slow data transfer!

May I know the capacity and model of the SD card? Please try using a different compatible SD card for comparison. Explore it on the other available ports without any other device connected. Check if there are any other security app or protocol that may screen out the contents as they would usually do to protect your device.

Best regards,
