After updating to windows 10 version 1709 touch screen stopped responding

2018-04-30, 21:05 PM

Hi everybody

I have M5400 Touch with win 10 installed.

As you know win 10 is updated automatically.

After updating to windows 10 version 1709 touch screen stopped responding!

I tried to uninstall the HID-compliant touch screen driver and also to update it but I get the answer that the best driver is installed.

Still touch screen isn't functioning !

Event viewer notifies me: Device HID\VID_0EEF&PID_A111&Col01\7&8c3ad52&2&0000 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.

So I understand that this behavior is due the update.

Also didn't find any touch screen driver in the product page at Lenovo website.

I'm a technical person but still can't solve the problem.

Any suggestions ?

Hello there! So follow these steps:

Press the windows key + X. Select device manager  you should see N-trig duosense click that, and N-trig duosense multi-touch should have a warning sign, now go to search in start or press the windows key + S type troubleshoot look for hardware devices, run troubleshooter

After a minute or so, it should say something like 'N-trig DuoSense multi-touch has error' tap that. Apply fix (when it comes up) next and don't restart the computer, just close off all the apps you have open, shutdown your computer and start it again it will work but PLEASE NOTE! You won't be able to use the multi-touch feature. The windows update caused that. If you do restart your computer, you'll have to do this all over again exactly how I said it. This is as far as I can take you. If you want your multi-touch feature back  you can wait until Microsoft comes out with a new patch to the update that will fix the issue most likely, or you can roll back the updates, to do this go to start > settings > updates and security > view update history > recovery options > restore previous versions of windows.

Hope this helped! Let me know if it did!

I'm not working nor associated with Microsoft in any way, I just know my stuff

(Ps. I made this account just to help you out because I know how stressful it can be)
