DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE BSoD

2021-07-12, 22:31 PM

This is happening on a Lenovo V145-15AST.

The first it happened was around a couple of days after I used CCleaner's new Driver "Updater". I used CCleaner's inbuilt driver rollback but it wasn't able to restore them all. I had made a Windows system restore before I first used CCleaner's driver "Updater", so I restored to that point and thought things would be o k.

Then around three days after it happened again.

I have downloaded the Power Management driver install file listed here on the Lenovo website for V145-15AST laptops and netbooks :: lenovo v series laptops :: v145 15astcontentdetail - Lenovo Support US

This is what the file shows when I run it: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE BSoD-lenovo.png

Help is needed

It has been a couple weeks since I posted this on another forum, it happened again today.

Greetings @Nobunaga2

Since this is a bsod case, I would advise trying to run a check disk and a system file scanner to identify any problem causing this.

- Launch the command prompt "CMD" from the search bar
- Type in the command prompt "sfc /scannow" without the quotation marks
- Hit Enter key
- This will scan the system for any corruption and repair problems

Include a check disk as well:
- Launch the command prompt form the search bar
- Type "chkdsk C: /f  /r " (excluding the quotation marks)
- The chkdsk command will only work if it has complete acces to your disk. You may type "Y" to schedule a specific volume to be checked. You may hit Enter
- This tool will scan for hard drive issues or bugs that it may find

Regards.
Dex

It is still happening and it is getting worse.

Now the screen will turn off without any BSoD shown.

Greetings @Nobunaga2

Back up your files on a separate location as report this to technical support in your region.

They would be able to run further investigation if this is hardware related specially if factory image restore is already done.
