I think its better to have a very silent fan at the background continious other than stop and start , stop and start fan.Am I right?so my situation is more preferable than the problem that g550 fans stop and runs.

yes, but its better to make it start and stop for battery savings you know....., if they maid it run continously then it will suck more power from the battery but it well be better for the CPU, i guess they should unlock the bois and let us choose from 3 optoins or a nice bois Fan modifacation menu like 1- Maximum Cooling(Wich leaves the fan running the whole time at medium , 2-Powersaver(Wich starts only if the Cpu overheated to 50-60C and when it cools down it shuts it self), 3- Balanced Cooling ( a balanced option for haveing both cooling and a littel power saving),

Thumbs up for my idea?

Dear colleagues

I bought a few days ago, G550 and i also have problem with fan. I am currently using win 7 64bit and I'm thinking about updating the bios because i am newbee with computers i have following questions:

1. Is the newest version of bios (dor win 764 bit) solve the problem with fan (even partially) ?? - if it is not stable please advice me what operating system i should chose to perform bios update

2. How big is risk that when flashing the bios, notebook will crash??

3. Because I had not noticed the new messages in this topic since the last post, may be there are other working solutions which i can not find over the internet??

Config of my g550

T6600- 2.2 Ghz

3GB RAM

GFORCE 210

320 HDD

P.S

Sorry for my english

Regards,

Lukasz

I had the same problem... I started to use tpfancontrol 0.62 and really works. Try it your self and you should see...

If anyone knows how to configure tpfancontrol.ini for my lenovo g550 with g210m please let me know.

Lenovo G550 - Ventilation slots problem ???

2011-03-03, 14:50 PM

My fan work always, before it worked for a minute then pause for about 4 mins, now it works continually, it stops just a little (for 10 sec, and starts again).

Can anyone tell me why , or this is random at Lenovo G550 ???
