HDD space problem.

2008-08-14, 10:08 AM

my HDD is reading 8~GB out of 104GB free. (C drive).
but everything in the C drive only adds to 35GB (including hidden folders)

my D drive is showing usage of 25GB while the files add to 10GB.

so its totaly screwing me over and i don't know why.

anyone got an idea why its using 61GB~ on absolutly nothing?? and any way to fix?

--- edit

i just installed my free 1gb ram, and only just noticed the high hdd usage. could that be a problem?

some advice asap would help.

You have too many Thinkvantage Rescue and Recovery backups, go into program for Rescue and Recovery, then delete the backups that you don't need.

well.. now its just completely messed up.

turn it on and it wont let me get past the first screen which says lenovo and i can't press ANY buttons other than the power one again.

meaning i can't restore/recover it using the care button :(

i didnt even do anything, just a defrag in hope that could have sorted it out

ps, i clicked delete all restores other than latest one and still had HDD space problem.

im going to send it off on warrenty and ask them to completely wipe it and test, if its working then il be happy to have it back and working rather than what it is now.

k gave some people a call... hopefully they can wipe it at nottingham warrenty approved help center :)

or £20 :( at shepshed.

hum if it is messed up like that then it would be best if it is fixed by the depot, by rewiping the whole harddrive.
