Lenovo 3000 N500 Synaptic mouse pad does not work

2008-11-29, 18:27 PM

This is a brand new laptop with an out the box problem, it came with Vista Business installed but I rolled it back to XP Professional (that is a story on its own). Problem is since first turning the laptop on the mouse pad has not worked, the little blue light between the buttons is on permanently. I can't find an on-off switch or setting anywhere. Fitting a USB mouse works but that not the point. Can somebody tell me how to turn the mouse pad on or is it dead and in need of repair

I bought two of these laptops at the same time, the other one is OK

Re: Lenovo 3000 N500 Synaptic mouse pad does not work

hello, i had the same surprise when i first started my new N500 yesterday!

It seems that the mouse pad is disable by default or one touches the on/off sensor (next to PSU plug).

I had to check the manual and just turned it on.

Above the keyboard, right side there are 4 sensors (volume up down off and mousepad on/off),

If theres a blue light under the mouse bad, it meas it is off :)

Good luck!
