Lenovo 3000 V100 random shutdowns

2008-10-29, 12:12 PM

Basically I have the same problem indicated in the thread "LAPTOP SHUTS DOWN ABRUPTLY"

except that mine's V100, instead of N100.  It just shut downs without warning when I'm plugged on AC, no specific time frame, but I've noticed it happening when I'm watchin YouTube or other videos.  I bought the laptop in the Philippines April 2007, my 1-yr warranty has expired and I'm now residing in Australia.  I've been using a plug-in LapCool3 notebook cooler since the beginning so I doubt that it's a heating issue.  It started happening around mid-2008, so just barely out of warranty.

I hope someone can help me, please tell me if you need more information about my problem.  I'm really disappointed that a lot of people seem to be having similar issues but aren't getting solved.

Oh, and my battery works just that life is very short, around 1 hour or so on the Lenovo power plan.

Call lenovo service asap for battery check, if it is still under warranty you might get it replaced.

I can't say how many times, but I keep it plugged most of the time, because the battery life is just too short.

I'll try but I'm pretty sure it's out of warranty. thanks.

Re: Lenovo 3000 V100 random shutdowns

Hello,

I have a similar problem but with a slight difference.

I have two users using Lenovo's 3000 v100 laptops of type: 0763-27U.

Both laptops experience daily shutdowns around 11:30am to 12:15pm.

It happens daily, whether I take the battery out and leave it plugged with the AC Adapter.

Also they can leave the laptop ON with no apps running on it and it will still shutdown everyday around the same time.

Any suggestions?

thanks
