Re: Lenovo V470/V570 Boot-up problems

2011-12-28, 14:48 PM

I just bought a v570 from BB 4 days back, and eversince had my biometric information entered, the boot up "please wait" screen freeze started to occur. Despite all efforts there is no solution, my understanding is that there is an issue with the "egistec" device and "bioexcess" driver. Removing both just made my PC work all fine.

If the screen freezes restart thru hard boot and select safe mode, in the hardware profile delete device "egistec" then restart and allow windows to complete the changes once done enter thru manual password and in remove programs uninstall bioexcess application. Windows will restart and once done you are all set, if anyone has problems beyond this fix please do share.

Here you can download the latest drivers

My bio excess was the latest one and it did not solve the freezing problem.

I am looking now for the latest driver for Veriface...

Any help?

I have a V570 and first day in it starts locking up on boot up.   I would force it down and then boot into safe mode,  then do a restart to regular mode.     I stopped using the finger scanner and then it locked up less often.    Then I installed  BioExcess all together and no more boot problems .   Anyone need a spare finger scanner ;)  ?

hey everyone i dont have time to read through 14 pages so im simply going to post my problem and if someone can help me thats been following this thread i would appreciate it

ok when my laptop is on it runs great, but my problem is i have to leave it on for weeks and days because once i shut it off it wont come back on. this is exactly what happens

i turn the computer off go to bed, wake up and turn it on the power button lights up, one light on the far right comes on nothing comes on screen computer is froze and wont shut off have to remove battery to get it to shut off.

now computer wont turn back on it wont do anything. i removed battery i removed power etc.

a few times it turned back on like nothing happened after i let it sit for a few hours. right now i cant get it to get any power once again to turn on

the computer is only a month old its a b570 i got it at best buy with no warranty because i didnt think it would break within a few weeks. silly me i never learn that best buy products never last. heck i bought a radio from them last month and the remote didnt even work the first day!

well ive tried the entire day trying to power it on every hour or few hours and now it wont turn on at all. im really upset i wanted a laptop the past few years and i finally spend my money on one and it doesnt even work. how can you companies release these products that dont even work right at such huge amounts of faulty computers left and right. i dont have many nice things and when i do buy something nice it doesnt even last a year. i even started writing a book on this laptop and now everything i wrote is gone

Re: Lenovo V570 Boot-up problems

I got my V570 yesterday and this morning froze before the login screen.

Anyhow I went SafeBoot , type Msconfig and disable the fingerprint programs and services.

Now boot without any problem.

IMHO the Fingerprint thingy si useless anyway so I will not bother with it anymore.

Question, if you do a clean install from DigitlaRiver will the FingerPrint thingy get installed automatically ?

If make sure the root cause is Bioexcess. you can try below step:

1.Restart

2.Use F8 enter safe mode

3.Enter X:\Program Files

4.Find Bioexcess folder & rename it

5.Restart

Hope it will help u.
