Lenovo v570 not booting

2012-09-10, 20:29 PM

Hello. I'm here to grace you all with yet another v570 issue. It's really torqueing me that this machine has so many issues. I just fixed the EgisTech Issue where the device would get hung up and please wait. Now it wont even Turn on. Light come on, like the power button and the lights at the bottom left. But the screen doesn't do anything. Also, I did try hooking up the machine to a VGA cable, so it is not the screen, because nothing showed up when i did that. The hard drive does spin. The fan is spinning. Lights are on, it would seem to be the screen but, it's not. I am totally at a loss for what could be going on right now. Please help me. I have important work to do.

Alright everyone, strangly enough, I got it work. Only by opening the computer up, cleaning out where the ram was, replacing the existing ram, and then boot. And everything seems to be alright. Now i think I'm still going to go have it looked at. Would the ram still register in the computer properties if it were to be corrupt?

Hi,

did you try to boot in Safe Mode?

Also some details,as to what happened just prior to that,

would be helpful.

Did you try to also repair the OS with the Windows 7 system repair disc?

Also how old is the laptop?

Have you checked the RAM sticks?

Video card,...graphics...?

Did you update a driver just prior to the problem occuring?

I did not update any drivers, nor am i sure how to check the ram to see if it's "dead" but i did open it up and made sure the sticks were placed in there correctly. The laptop is only a few months old. I'm more software savvy than hardware, how would I go about checking the graphics card? Also, Like i said, There is nothing but a blank screen when I power on the machine, I suspect the motherboard, but if it were that I feel that none of the lights would come on, nor would the hard drives be spinning.

Does the BIOS even loads? If you cannot even see the BIOS load, then there is no software fix we can advice. If it does, would you be ok with a reformat? Although, I have other suggestion to try before we hit that route.

You didn't answer my questions.

Did you try to boot into Safe Mode?

Did you try to repair the OS with the system repair disc?

To your questions

The RAM sticks need to be checked,as they maybe corrupt

since you also don't know how to check video card and graphics

These things need to be checked first,as to rule them out as the cause.

Have someone else look at these or calling Lenovo support in your area, will be helpful.

See what they advise.

Also an important question is this,

do you need to get your data off the hard drive first?

To retrieve the data on the hard drive,

please follow instructions given on this link
