N100 CDR/DVDRW Disappeared

2009-02-24, 6:05 AM

I do not understand. I ripped two tracks from a CD of mine two days ago and now my CD rom is non-existant. I put in a CD (anything, burned, software, music, etc.) the light flashes but nothing pops up. The Drive (D:) has disappeared from My Computer. Also when I go to Device Manager, it's not even in there anymore. I've checked the lenovo website and it does not have any CD-Rom drivers for my computer. Add Remove doesn't find anything. Restore doesn't bring it back. What should I do?

Go to control panel - system - hardware - device manager -action - scan for hardware changes. If this doesnt help in device manager uninstal secondary ide channel and restart pc when os boots up windows will find secondary ide channel and install drivers for it . Your dvd is on secondary ide channel.
