N500 - Touchpad not working (Hardware)

2008-11-07, 17:16 PM

Hi,

i´m very frustrated. I bought a N500 before 1 day and today..the "second day" the touchpad is not working anymore. I did nothing special so far with the notebook, its not working on the pre-installled vista and ubuntu. so it can´t be a driver failure. Is there any special secret key to disable it? maybe i pressed a button wihout care..

I plugged a usb mouse and its working well, but that could be not a solution because I very need the touchpad working!

can someone help me please?

bye

darkstar

Welcome to the forum, darkstar.

Try pressing Fn+one of the Function keys(one with rectangular icon and slanted line across). On my Y410, I press Fn+F8 to activate and deactivate the touchpad.

Thanks for your welcome, and sorry for my late answer.. heavy duty the last week...

So its really a key but not like the usually way with the FN-F combo, no its a sensor button in the right top corner.. ;)

should better look next time in the manual, because its written there.. :)

bye and solved

Aiieee! these little things, so easily overlooked. I'm not one of those whose fingers go crazy on the keypad, but still sometimes you don't know what you press by accident.

Many Thanks, Solvan! you solved it for me too.

Same problem I had with my lenovo G550 and I fixed it finally.

After installing Alps Pointing device driver simply add it to your startup objects following these steps:

1- Open run and type" msconfig " then press Enter.

2- Choose startup from System Configuration window.

3- Select Alps Pointing device driver.

4- Apply then restart.

Actually it worked pretty good with me after applying these steps.

Regards

Hello!

I have a problem. I bought Lenovo B570 laptop. Everything worked great.
Than touchpad stopped working.
I installed touchpad driver from CD and touchpad was ok after that.
BUT!!! I can't  use "Click"  to open or choose any file!!

Than I took a mouse driver from  lenovo, and install it.
Now, Clicking is working but Touchpad is not working!!!

Is there any conflict with theese two?? I use Win7.
How to make both of them working?
