Re: V510-15IKB Laptop Freeze

Can you ask your service what they did to the lap top, so that we can also suggest the solution to our service, to avoid multiple (endless) lap top services. My lap top is also freezing once in a 10 days from the very beginning and i don't have enough nerves to fight with lenovo support, especially because a lot of people had their lap top returned from the service without solution.

Hi Everyone, to all of you guys that have a Lenovo V510.

If you receive random freeze on the laptop and dont know what the problem is update all the drivers etc... tried everything.

Please try the following drivers/firmware.

Im from South Africa and contact lenovo support and escalted the problem of these laptops. I work for a company that bought Lots of these laptops and I was in charge of fixing this problem.

Long story short here are the links to the 1 driver and 1 Bios update.

BIOS: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/by/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/LENOVO-V-SERIES-LAPTOPS/V510-15IKB/80WQ/80WQ019FSA/LR08C6SE/downloads/DS118614

ACPI: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/by/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/LENOVO-V-SERIES-LAPTOPS/V510-15IKB/80WQ/80WQ019FSA/LR08C6SE/downloads/DS105474

All my users 10+ is not experiencing these issues anymore, after these 2 changes.

I have also done all the other possibilities before i got to this solution.

New motherboard does not help new laptop does not help new Memory does not help only these 2 thing above... Its weird and sad at the same time but works

Not sure if this will fix your problem but its worth a try...RIGHT!?

Motherboard was changed, new BIOS installed, one of RAM was changed by 8Gb.

I dont now which one-soldered or other. Now I have 12Gb.

14 days no freezings, before service the freeze happened every 2-3 days.

So interesting, drivers updates I receive again every day, same before service...

Intel Graphics Control Panel:

- turn off all power managemet options related to Intel Graphics Power Management

- turn off all video optimisations

Windows Power Management advanced options:

- disable HDD power management and auto power off

- set Intel Graphics power plan to balanced

- turn off PCI Express link power management

It works :)

I have no one freeze from August with ~10 or more hours daily permanent notebook usage.

A month ago I had absolutely the same problems with ASUS laptop, and I solved them exactly the same and I have a month of work without freezes.
