What RAM you have on ur laptop? Wista needs minimum 1Gb or higher RAM.
Install notebook hardware control software which will allow you to see fan speeds/hardware temperatures etc. Download link/details are given in this thread: http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/message?board.id=N_Series_Lenovo_3000&thread.id=1636

give details of ur system, CPU, RAM, etc.

I own and use a V100.

With your system, expect to have the fan running continuously unless your ambient (room) temperature is about 15 degrees Celcius. But I don't expect the fan to be running at "full speed" when running normally. Full speed is when the CPU core reaches 95 degrees Celcius, and you should hear that the fan is both noisy and notably higher pitched than normal. This sound should be similar to when you first power on your system and see the "Lenovo" startup screen.

Unlike some other laptop systems, Lenovo doesn't provide the option to run the laptop in a special quiet mode. The fan speed is normally controlled via hardware only.
