monitor brightness

2009-01-08, 18:43 PM

I like my screen darker than most people, but my Lenovo doesn't seem to remember my setting after I turn my computer on. Is there a way to stick my setting there? (I use FN+F10 and F11 to adjust). Unlike other laptops, my Lenovo doesn't tell me what brightness (%) I am running at and it doesn't remember the setting (it sets back to max) after I reboot. Am I missing an application? (I installed LPM driver, although I don't see any trace of it)

Thanks

glitch

you could easily use the graphics control panel (nvidia or intel?) to set a brightness level that KEEPS!!

I have nvidia Geforce 9300 M and its easy, if you have Intel I hope you can also do it...

The energy profiles override any adjust that you do with Fn+F10 and F11, the best chance is go to inside energy properties, change a profile of brightness on the profile that you using (Lenovo default is the often used) then adjust brightness on ac power and battery apart, and this do the work

Where is the profile settting you are talking about? I do not have a program running at the background of such nature and Intel GMA app does not have a setting for brightness. The power settings (battery icon) does not have such option either. I feel like I'm missing a Lenovo application that should be running.

Then do right-clic at free area of desktop, personalize, screensaver, change energy setup..., choose one energy plan and change plan setup, there are 2 settings of brightness, one for battery and other for ac (assuming that you have running vista too!)
