200n Update Bios and Drivers - where?

Where can you get free driver and Bios updates for Windows 7.

Googled Pheonix for Bios and get directed to a site which scans your system giving a list of updates which you find you have to pay $30 for the updates. Lenovo site appears to have nothing for 3000 200n 0769

Hi bellcart,

Here's your driver page.

What drivers are you looking for?  Do you have unknown devices in Device Manager?  Almost all the drivers on that page are for xp or Vista.  Vista drivers sometimes work for Windows 7.

I would run Windows Update and check the optional updates for anything you might need.

Edit:  I would stay away from the drivers update sites.  They say they find drivers in their scan, then you buy it, and then the drivers won't install.

Dave

Re: 200n Update Bios and Drivers - where?

Using Windows 7 Advisor showed most drivers are Ok.

The most annoying point is that my MS Office does not work with Win 7 but an upgrade is available.

My concern is with the Bios. The existing Phoenix Bios 68ET35ww (v3.03) works with Win 7.

Bios Utility Update -

The latest version 3.05 says only Vista and XP supported, is this correct as it seems illogical.

It also says version 3.03 Bios is 68et35us, confusing

As the summary of changes only states "fix fan noise" is it worth updating.

Re: 200n Update Bios and Drivers - where?

No Win 7 support for the n200.
If no "fan noise" problem, don't update.

If updating to newest, run the update in Compatibility Mode
for Vista.

If you have no current problem that a bios update
may fix, do not update, as there is a risk of update
going wrong, since it was designed for Vista.
