Adjusting Fan speeds on Lenovo N500

HelloSmiley Happy

For my first post I will bother you with a rather important matter, well, to me atleast.

I am using a Lenovo Laptop N500 which is great. Smiley Wink

But one of the biggest problems is the Fan Speed.

Most of the times the Automatic Adjustion works great and keeps it cool, but sometimes, it gets too hot for

me to normally place my hand on the left side of the Laptop. This bothers me when using it to type. Smiley Mad

I have tried updating the Fan Speed Control driver with the latest one, and hands down, it works like a charm.

Still, when I run CPU consuming programs, it gets hot.

I've looked on the internet and found that on some laptops you can change the speed in the BIOS.

My BIOS does not hold that option. After updating the BIOS with the latest one, I again felt dissapointment. Smiley Sad

Now I am asking you, to tell me if there is a way to manually change the fan speed to 100%?

Thanks in advance,

Lovro Mirnik

I am using an N500 model with HDMI, and now that I have updated the BIOS I lost even that, for nothing.

Re: Adjusting Fan speeds on Lenovo N500

Oh yes,

In case someone thought of SpeedFan, the program. I have tried it, but it was unseccessful.

It fails to detect my Fan. Smiley Sad

Any other ideas?

I hope mentioning the program will not be considered as me advertising. That is not my intention.

If any of you think otherwise, please let me know, and I'll remove the post.

Re: Adjusting Fan speeds on Lenovo N500

Meaning?

1. Multiple Graphics Cards

2. Changing the Graphics Card

3. Shapeshifting the Laptop into 2D from 3D

Re: Fan control on Lenovo N500

The fan isn't detected in Speedfan, so it can't be adjusted. Must some drivers missing?

Re: Fan control on Lenovo N500

If somebody has a combination of drivers and software that will regulate the fan speed on a Lenovo N500, please post i here. Does the Lenovo software for power management do this? I haven't used it in a while since I'm running Windows 7.
