Audio board compliance/identification

2009-05-15, 1:02 AM

Hello,

I'm considering purchasing the Lenovo laptop listed here:

http://www.officedepot.com/catalog/catalogSku.do?pr=&id=210745

The audio board is listed as a generic "soundcard" with a Conexant cx20561 audio codec driver installed.

Does this mean that the audio is HD? Is the audio board in fact a Realtek?

Also, would that configuration be Windows XP Directsound compliant? I need that specification for an app I wish to install on the machine.

TIA!

The N500 utilizes a Conexant HD Audio controller, not Realtek.

I read some information on DirectSound, and I see no reason why the N500 would not support it.

Hope this helps.
