Battery indicator sometimes goes crazy

Hello everyone,

I recently bought a laptop M30-70. Everything seems to work well, but sometimes I noticed that, if I disconnect the charger, the battery indicator will remain on, even if the PC is off. In this case, I have to turn my PC on again, and then turn it off without the charger connected.

How is it possible?

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

Sounds like you have an battery indicator light with a mind of its own. Smiley Happy

What I would suggest doing is uninstalling the Lenovo Energy Management driver, reboot the computer and then install a fresh copy of that driver.  Then see if the reinstallation corrected the problem.

Click here for the Windows 7 version of the driver.

Click here for the Windows 8.1 version of the driver.

Re: Battery indicator sometimes goes crazy

Thanks for your interest.

I tried your solution, but nothing has changed.

Instead, I noticed that the problem occurs when the battery charge is approximately 100%. This makes me suspect that the problem is the battery.

What do you think about it?

Re: Battery indicator sometimes goes crazy

The problem could be with the battery or the charging circuit in the laptop itself.  Either way the problem appears to be hardware related.  Since the laptop is relatively new I would call Lenovo Support for warranty assistance.

Re: Battery indicator sometimes goes crazy

One additional suggestion.....     try removing and then reinstalling the battery just to insure that it is making good contact with its socket.
