Ideapad N580 needs reinstall of win 8 or 7

A few days ago I acquired an Ideapad N580. It was in an endless  boot loop. Tried a couple of things to break the loop and they didn't work. Had some old Lenovo Vista Business recovery disks. Got it to work. The N580 has a Windows 8 sticker on it. The Bios say Windows 8. But now, it's got Vista installed and running, but I don'tI don't think the N580 and Vista are compatible and am uncertain if everything is working as it should. I've tried recovering Windows 8, but the only thing that installs is Vista. From all I have heard, I really am not too keen on having Windows 8, I would prefer 7. But, Windows eight would be preferable to Vista. Thing is, I don't know how to accomplish installing/recovering Windows 8 or Windows 7. I suppose I'm in a similar situation to someone who has replaced their hard drive. How do they go about getting 8 or 7 installed/recovered?

    If the system Came preloaded with Windows 8 then it should have the Product key in the BIOS.

The concern of Installing Windows 7 is the Product key.
If you have a legit WIndows 7 Product key then you can proceed with this.
 
You can check this 
 
Win7 ISO with SP1 (you can get one here) and create a bootable Win7 USB installer (see this guide).
And use your WIndows 7 Product key

Thanks for the links and info. I did contact Lenovo about a recovery disc. They offered the disc, with tech support, with purchase of service plan. They had a couple service plans available. I could also purchase the disc with tech support for the recovery only, for a certain price or I could purchase the disc with no tech support for a lesser price. None of the prices sounded attractive to me, so guess I will be checking out the Windows 7 install. And onward we go.
