Ideapad V570 keyboard repair

Hello

I have a Lenovo Ideapad V570 which I purchased from Best Buy this past summer.

A few keys on the keyboard have stopped working, and there has not been any water or drinks spilt on my laptop. I have connected a USB keyboard and every key works fine.

I am assuming my keyboard has some issues with it. What is the best course of action for me?

It'd be nice to have my laptop away from as little as possible. I understand I could send it in for warranty repairs, but is there a quicker way? Could I have BestBuy fix it? Could I take it in to a certified service center to have it fixed? Shipping my laptop just seems so daunting cause I'm afraid of sending it, and the time between shipping it and getting it back seems long...seems like it'd be faster just to take it in by person.

Any suggestions on how to fix my keyboard? Also, I have heard you can self-fix keyboards, but this would void my warranty, wouldn't it?

Thanks for any help you have.

Re: Ideapad V570 keyboard repair

Also, what should I expect to pay, if anything? I am still under warranty and I did not spill anything on my laptop...

Re: Ideapad V570 keyboard repair

if you call lenovo support line, service will replace the keyboard for free if you have valid warranty.

you can replace the keybord but as you said, it'll void your warranty.

Re: Ideapad V570 keyboard repair

Is this limited to mailing it in or is there any way to get it done at a local certified service center to eliminate shipping times?

Re: Ideapad V570 keyboard repair

Does this mean that having a certified service center operate on my machine voids my warranty?

Re: Ideapad V570 keyboard repair

i'm not sure. due to warranty conditions may change by country, it'd be better you to call lenovo support line and ask them if it does.

Re: Ideapad V570 keyboard repair

Thank you for your help and support. I'll give the support line a ring and see what they say, hopefully they say a certified service center is okay since I wish to eliminate shipping times! I found a few near me via the Lenovo website. Will update this thread once I get more info.
