Has anyone had any luck on enabling intel virtualization on v200 yet? I tried the solution (thread : http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/message?board.id=N_Series_Lenovo_3000&message.id=2249&query.id=37...) about v100 but didnt work.

Re: Intel VT on Lenovo V200

I found the register to enable virtualization on 3000 v200 notebook with core 2 duo T7500 processor.

(0216)  [0000] should change to (0216) [0001]

Hope this might helpSmiley Happy

Edit:

The procedure to make the necessary change is on the following thread:

http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/message?board.id=N_Series_Lenovo_3000&message.id=2249&query.id=37...

Re: Intel VT on Lenovo V200

With the most recent BIOS ( 65ET60WW ), the register to enable virtualization changed to:

(0270) [0001]

Model is: 0764-33G (Core2Duo T7500).

Re: Intel VT on Lenovo V200

I updated my bios to 65ET60WW and changed (0270) to [0001] but no luck.  How did you find 0270?

How can i find the register to change VT setting?

Thanks

Re: Intel VT on Lenovo V200

My method was simple trial/error. I turned on/off each 25 registers and then checked it using vt.iso .

I've read somewhere, that you have to do everything in pure DOS. You can use FreeDOS bootable floppies (I used "OEM Bootdisk" from fdos.org/bootdisks ). I.e., you have to generate, edit and use your file with CMOS settings (registers) in pure DOS. It must not be touched in Windows. I don't know if it is the case.

Are you sure that your settings are properly stored in CMOS?

Re: Intel VT on Lenovo V200

i tried the same method, change 25 register at a time from 0000 to 0001 and tried with vt.iso. it took about 4 hours.but no luck. can you please send me your cmos registers with a text file. i want to try it and compare with my cmos dump file.

 thank you

Re: Intel VT on Lenovo V200

One thing I rememberd is that you must not simply reset computer after each action, you must turn it off and on. I used Pedit for editing files in FreeDOS.

Here is the file with default CMOS settings (it was generated after flashing bios and resetting to default settings):

This is the file with which I updated my registers:

And this is the modified file, generated after updating:
