Is this Lenovo Essential good enough to edit videos with the sony vegas?

Hi. I'm thinking of buying a Cheap Lenovo Essential v110-15isk (i3-6006u 4gb 500gb) because I want it for normal use (internet, multimedia), but maybe at some point I need to render a 6-8 minute video with Sony Vegas. So will this laptop be able to run Sony Vegas?

Re: Is this Lenovo Essential good enough to edit videos with the sony vegas?

Hi Sophie123,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would you have a particular machine part number like 80TD000D++ to detail the specification of the machine you are intending to get?

In general, specs for the V110-15ISK to have it meeting the suggested system requirements for Sony Vegas must have AMD Radeon R5 M430, 2GB memory with 8GB max / 2133MHz DDR4, dual-channel capable to run the application and this would include normal use like surfing and other multimedia task.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Update us how it goes on your end.

Regards

Hi Sophie123,

It would be a big challenge running vegas on this variant of the V110. This one would creep, literally.

80TL00A2SP uses I3-6006U has only 2 core and makes it laborous for edit and tends to overheat more. It has no operating system on it so you stilll need to but Windows product key.

The memory (main resource of video editing) is only 4 GB and with  Intel® HD Graphics 520 sharing its resources making more deprived resource.

I rather that you find something that can meet the specifications of Vegas pro. Maybe with I7 or higher core CPU , 8 GB RAM and with supported graphics that has its own ram and not being shared with the system.

Regards

Re: Is this Lenovo Essential good enough to edit videos with the sony vegas?

My old laptop (another brand), was 7 years old, it had:

-AMD Athlon ™ II P360 dual-core processor
-ATI Mobility Radeon ™ HD 4250 graphics

-4GB Ram

and I could use Vegas. I thought that this Lenovo was superior to that 😫 I no longer know what to buy and I do not have much more budget.

Re: Is this Lenovo Essential good enough to edit videos with the sony vegas?

Hi Sophie123,

I may support Sony Vegas but you need to choose perhaps a lower Windows version (Windows 7) with a lower setting on your application ( via minimum requirements).

The specification of the software developer suggest below specs for optimal use (System Requirements).

Operating system: Microsoft® Windows 7 (64-bit), Windows 8 (64-bit) or Windows 10 (64-bit)
Processor: 2 GHz (multicore or multiprocessor recommended for HD or stereoscopic 3D; 8 cores recommended for 4K)
RAM: 4 GB RAM (8 GB recommended; 16 GB recommended for 4K)
Hard drive space: 1.5 GB hard-disk space for program installation; Solid-state disk (SSD) or high-speed multi-disk RAID for 4K media
Graphics card: Supported NVIDIA®, AMD/ATI® or Intel® GPU with at least 512 MB of memory (1 GB recommended for 4K and GPU-accelerated video processing)
Internet connection: Required for registration
