Today I used 'system update' to check any critical updates for 'Rescue & Recovery'. I was surprised when it suggested these two optional upgrades simaltaneously:
200mb upgrade from version 3.1 to 4.0
196mb upgrade from version 3.1 to 4.21
Add to that:
73mb intel wireless driver update to version 10.1.5.59 (my system driver version 220.127.116.11).
Few things I couldn't understand:
Why System Update gives option to upgrade to an older version(3.1 to 4.0) when newer version (3.1 to 4.21) is available?
Why System Update doesn't realize my laptop has more recent driver version installed?
Why FILE SIZES are SO BIG? (specially driver updates, compared to those on Intel website)?
System details: Lenovo 3000 N-100 0768-DKU WinXP Home Edition SP2
PS: I cancelled all the above updates.
