Customers with V470 or V570 can face an issue where by upon booting up the laptop, system will be stuck at the startup screen with the message "PLEASE WAIT" before the logon screen appears.  




After much investigation, this issue was not caused by Lenovo software but it was however caused by the detection software. The face detection vendor software Egistech.


The solution is to uninstall VeriFace.  If you are stuck at the "PLEASE WAIT" screen,after successive reboots,

reboot and go into


  • SAFE mode,
  • Start windows explorer and go to C: program files x86,
  • and rename EgisTech Bioexcess folder to something else.  (This prevents the service from starting when you reboot, and it's the service that gets you!)


  • Then reboot to Win and uninstall VeriFace.
  • Then rename that Egistec folder and reboot,  and your fingerprint app should be fine, and boots should be fine.
