This is an attempt to start a replacement thread for an old long one (similar name) about the please wait hang prob at boot.(see link at bottom of this post)
This is an EgisTech prob, not a Lenovo prob.
The symptom is for a V470/V570 laptop with the fingerprint reader - at some point in its life, you start getting stuck at a PLEASE WAIT message, after boot, before the LOGON screen.
The solution is to uninstall VeriFace. (credit @cooperiam !!!!! )
If you are stuck at the PLEASE WAIT screen,after successive reboots,
reboot and go into plain SAFE mode,
start windows explorer and go to C: program files x86,
and rename EgisTech Bioexcess folder to something else. (This prevents the service from starting when you reboot, and it's the service that gets you!)
Then reboot to Win and uninstall VeriFace.
Then rename that Egistec folder and reboot, and your fingerprint app should be fine, and boots should be fine.

I just used msconfig to de-select (uncheck) the Veriface service and everything seems to be fine (so far). It's been more than a week but, I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop.

cool. I've been going fine for a week or 2 and I was pretty regularly able to get it by hammering boot 5 times or so. Don't know why I didn't pick up on cooper's fix long ago!

This is current - May 23 2012. Nothing else needs to be done. I am using Bioexcess and the fingerprint reader. Nice toy!!!

Edit: Can I get a response on this ASAP I am afraid of turning off my laptop and having it happen again!
So I got my V570 two days ago and yesterday I got what you guys have come to know as the dreaded "Please wait" hang so I have been able to reboot my v570 but I want a perm fix for this so from what I have gathered from reading the 16 pages of the previous post I have 2 options
1. Uninstall bioexecces or w/e its called(but I like the feature so I dont wanna to do this unless there is no other way)
2. Uninstall veriface
I want to know how well the 2nd option works since I really like the scanner and I really like this lap top it's wicked awesome for its price!

The only thing we know is to:
Either one works 100%
We could again turn this into a 17 page bitch, but that's all we know.

Well from what I read seemed like Lonovo just went by your guys fix and it seems like i don't have a use for veriface but the finger scanner app is awesome so i have restarted my V570 6 times and no lock up so far so seems like you and the rest of the guys found a legit fix thnx for that since this is a pretty awesome laptop!
