Lenovo V560 dead

2016-05-10, 10:32 AM

Hello guys, i could use some help. So, i cleaned my V560, but instead of putting back silicon on my graphic chip i threw it away(stupid, i know, didnt think). So i applied paste on my chip and now laptop wont turn on at all. I could use some advice whether to find silicon, put it on chip again and try to turn it on, or something else?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

When you say you "threw away the silicone" are you referring to a thermal pad that was on the chip?

From what you have described I would open the laptop and recheck all the connections to insure they are fully seated.  Although the missing silicone may cause a heat problem it shouldn't prevent boot up.  My guess is there is a connection inside that isn't being made.
