I have Lenovo V560 with Mobile Intel HM55 Express Chipset and i3-380m processor, and I want to upgrade to i7-640m.
Can I simply change i3-380m with i7-640m under the same cooler, or must to buy another better cooler for i7-640m? Both cpus are 35W.
Can BIOS update to allow 16gb ram memory?

Could you kindly explain why you have two machines, a V310 and a V560, whilst switching operating systems from win 8.1 to win 10 and back and wanting to upgrade the processor and add a ton of memory, outside of Lenovo specs, whilst your dual graphics, Intel vs AMD is not working.
The dual graphics issue is covered on the forum. Use the forum search button.
Your CPU upgrade is also covered on the forum. Use the forum search button.
Your memory questions about your V310 are also answered on this forum.

I recently bought a Lenovo v310-15isk, which I use for programming (Java, C++, PHP, CSS, HTML, Android...) and graphic design (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator...). Only 4gb ram memory is not enough.
Other Lenovo, V560, use my father for architecture and construction (ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, ArmCAD, Radimpex Tower...). I3-380m is very slow. I worked on a similar laptop with i7-640m (and same 4gb memory modules), and differences in speed are noticeable, very notable in ArchiCAD. (The problem is: when a client wants to see how the requested changes will look, this takes a lot of time while processor give result.) I can buy i7-640m in a nearby PC servise for 25$, but I am not sure is this upgrade totally safe.
Two of my colleagues, working with more ram memory than the officially provided by the manufacturer (HP and Asus) without any problem, but I do not want to experiment until I confirm it is safe.
Another forum member have problem with graphic gard and changing operating sistem, not me, my hardware is perfect.
I am in UTC+01:00 time zone, southeast Europe.
