M5400 Touch screen is not working.

Touch screen is not working.

I already tried to reinstall driver but still the same problem.

 

Mouse and touchpad are working.

 

I also removed already the battery for a while and cleaned the screen.

Driver version is 6.3.9600.17041 date 21/6/2006

 

When i check the properties of "pen and touch" i find only one tab. The toch tab.

In some screenshots i found different tabs "Pen options" "flicks" "handwriting" "touch" and "panning".

Is it not strange that i only have there one tab page?

 

Is there a keyboard combination to enable or disable the touchscreen?

 

I also checked the bios but there is nothing in there to enable or to disable the touch screen.

Hi Martin,

 

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

 

- Press Windows + X.

- Select Device Manager.

- Find the Touchscreen driver under Mice and Other Pointing Devices>USB Touchscreen Controller (A111).  You're going to uninstall this and check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device".  Don't worry, it won't blow up your computer.

- Restart your computer.

- Re-open the Device Manager, and confirm that the Touchscreen is now listed under Human Interface Devices.  Your issue should be resolved!

Hi Shashi,

 

First, thanks for your help.

 

I tried your advice but my driver is already listed under Human Devices and not under Mice and other Pointing devices.
I uninstalled the driver and rebooted but problem still exist.

 

Any other clue or things i can check?

 

Or anyone else?

Hi Martin,

  

There could be multiple issues here, so generically we would recommend the following troubleshooting:

 

Try to Recalibrate the Touchscreen and test.

 

Try to remove any USB attach devices to check for conflicts or potential interference (some USB devices could cause electrical "noise" that can affect touchscreen operation.

 

My Touch screen was also not very responsive and I did the below to fix it.

 

 1) Go to Device Manager

2) Expand Human Interface Devices

3) Double click on the last USB input device listed

4) Navigate to power management tab and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

 

This should fix the issue for the touch screen becoming unresponsive. If the symptoms are continuous, please service center  for further assistance.

Shashi, thank you again for your help but touchscreen is still not working.
I can start the callibration but then i need to tap the screen and the screen is not detecting my touch. So i'm not able to calibrate it because the touch screen is not working. The touchscreen is completely not responding.

I also tried the 4 steps you provided but still the same.
There are no other usb devices attached.
