N 500 423363U has HDMI port, the BIOS is NON-HDMI and it doesn't work

2017-06-04, 16:39 PM

I am so confused. Is my Lenovo 3000 N500 4233 63U HDMI compatible? Why it has the port, why the BIOS recommened/installed is NON-HDMI (version 1.10 BIOS 6GET19WW) and why it doesn't work when connected to any Tv with HDMI capability?  Should i downgrade to 1.09.

I m running Windows 10 since July 2015 and ...this is another issue which probably will force me

soon to go back to Windows 7, the last update installed successful for windows 10 was Sep 2015; ever since, all the updates don't install, don't download sometimes, whatever adivse i followed, no windows update can be installed.

Thank you so much

Vera

Hello VeraLenovo

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

Have a look on the following knowledge base, as per the post:

"This Bios version 1.10 (6GET19WW) package is only for non-HDMI Platform on Lenovo N500 or Lenovo G530 (Type: 4446). If other G530 system (Type: 4151) flash this bios package by accident, it will cause "No HDMI Function" side-effect. But, you can flash back to previous Bios version by downloading the according Bios packages from Lenovo website.

Customers who have systems with HDMI should use BIOS 1.09 (6GET19WW)"

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Re: N 500 423363U has HDMI port, the BIOS is NON-HDMI and it doesn't work

I was able last night to go back to the HDMI BIOS and to my frustration, it didn't work on a 2012 Sony Bravia.

After more googleing, trial and error, change settings on tv, i succedeed but only after...i RESTARED both the laptop and the tv. All these tv s are like computers, you need to restart all devices for changes to take effect (I didn't find that in Sony's manual).

Thank you for your help.

Now the 2nd fight, how to put Windows 7 over OEM XP. I tried 3 times already with no success, some error stops Win 7 installation. I guess i have to apply all the updates for XP and only after that to attempt Win 7...but this project would be another topic.

Thank you again Krakken
