I have a N500 laptop. There is a really loud beep emitted from laptop whenever I plug/unplug the power cable or when battery becomes low.

If I mute the laptop, it does mutes expectedly, but I would much rather remove it outright.

  1. In "Control Panel" open "sound".
  2. Then in sound, in the "Playback" tab, double click on the "speakers" icon. This will open up a "speaker properties window.
  3. Click on the "Levels" tab and this will show two areas, speakers and PC speaker.
  4. Click on the little speaker icon for the pc speaker and it should show a circle with a slash through it showing that the pc speaker is disabled.
  5. Click OK or apply whichever is highlighted.

Note: The method mentioned above works only for certain models such as N500 and Y710. Some machines can be fixed via bios, or upgrade to latest bios.
