N585 Memory

I have a N585 running Windows 8.1.  I want to upgrade the memory.  SiSoft Sandra says that I should use 1.35V memory instead of the 1.5V memory that is installed.  I will be replacing the 2Gb with 2 4Gb sticks of RAM.  I am unsure on now to decide what memory to buy.  I couldn't find any information in the forum or KB.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: N585 Memory

hi twinsdad55,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

Looking at page 89-90 of the hardware maintenance manual, the IdeaPad N585 uses various brands of RAM, in whicn includes both 1.35V and 1.5V.

Hynix, HMT325S6CFR8C-PB

Micron, MT8KTF25664HZ-1G6M1

Technical Note

DDR3 SDRAM 1.35V-to-1.5V Compatibility

"This means that a 1.35V device will function at the 1.5V voltage condition specified by JEDEC."

Regards
