I don't have that tab on my Device Managers PRoperties. I have Windows 7 Home Premium. I right click on my computer, then go to device manager, and I have all tabs except the power tab.

Does it work the same on a/c as well as battery?
The next time it stops working, go into device manager and disable it, then enable it and see if it starts working again.
I have a home premium license, i'll put it on one of my machines and see if I can get it to do it. Or at least figure out where the power settings are for it.

I put 7 home premium on an x41 and that power management tab is there in device manager. I used a retail upgrade version. I wonder if there's a difference between the retail version and the Lenovo preload. Right now I'm sitting through 72 windows updates. I wonder if any of those will knock it out.

My software is different from yours, but it should be in the same place. Control panel, device manager, biometric devices, my software is then listed, "touchchip fingerprint coprocessor WBF advanced mode, I double click that and the the tabs are, "general, driver, details, power management".
Make sure you're actually in device manager. Don't click on the Biometric devices in control panel, that won't give you the power management tab. You have to be in device manager. Mine is the second device on the list in device manager.
Oh yeh, all the updates are completed and everything is still there.

Let's try this. Control panel, biometric devices, properties, change settings, in the next window see if the power management tab shows up.
