V570 Won't Connect Unless in Same Room as Modem

My Lenovo V570 will not connect to a newtork unless it is super close to the Modem.  Like the same room.  I move to my bedroom, and it won't connect.  I went to a hotel this weekend, and it would not connect to the Hotel's network.  My friend had a laptop in the hotel and had no problems.  Why is my connecting ability so limited?  Do I need some type of booster, or  more powerful network card?  It came with an Intel MyWifi Card.  (Not sure how to find the details of the WiFi card)

This is starting to get to the point of frustrating.

Re: V570 Won't Connect Unless in Same Room as Modem

Is there anything I can do before trying to contact customer service?  I can use it as long as I am in the same room as the modem.

if it's antenna issue, i think there's nothing you can do. still, check if other computers/wireless devices can connect to the internet.
( my opinion it's antenna issue )

Re: V570 Won't Connect Unless in Same Room as Modem

Yeah other computers work fine.  Mine works if it is in the same room as the modem, but when you move too far away then it has issues. (Other laptops are not having any issues when I move to another room of the house)

Would some type of external or USB antennae give me more power to pick up signals?

Or is there a way to get a boost out of the laptops internal antennae?

you can of course use external antenna but it'd be better to contact lenovo support line.
