[V570] access denied for removable disk

I have windows 7 , I cannot download files to a USB disk. It tells me acess is denied . my computer model is 1066

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

 

Can you download files to the disk on another computer?  Can you access files already on the disk?  Can you see the disk in Windows Explorer or My Computer.  If so, try doing a scan for Error Checking and the disk.

I used an apple computer to download the files to a USB and it did work. My Lenovo computer I do see the connection when I stick the USB in. It says I am not  authorized to download the files to USB.

Check out the link below for an article on how to enable access to a USB flash drive.  Option 1 is the easiest to use as it has a download link to the registry file that will automatically change the setting for you when executed.
