Hello, had the same task these day´s. This is my solution.
1. Create a custom Win Install-CD with nLite www.nliteos.com and
include Win ServicePack 3
2. Change the Bios setting of the harddisk from AHCI to IDE
(Native WinXp doesn´t really support AHCI-Mode)
3. When the XP installation is finished, download and install the "Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver for Windows XP, Vista (32bit) - ThinkPad" http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-70477
Follow the "If you do not have a diskette drive...." instruction
If it does not work with step 1 and 2 and you still have a blue screen while installing, include the drivers to your nLite Install-CD
Currently there are problems with downloading drivers from the Lenovo site.. ...so if you cannot download the driver package...send me a message I´ll send it to you by e-Mail.

Hi, Christian, I have had the same problem.
My solution was to switch in the bios to IDE insted of AHCI.
But my problem is now : I cannot dowload any driver from the lenovo-page.
I always get the message : "No download available ".
Please, can you email me the drivers?

Thank you very much Christian i'll try that, can you email me the drivers.
There is also 1 problem I encountered i'm not sure if it is beacuse of the service pack 3 or because of the hard drive when it gets too hot, I can not restart or turn off my laptop, thats why reinstall the XP supplied by lenovo and I dont install the service pack 3 and I improvised I put a big fan at the back of my laptop, and now I can turn of my laptop. Thank you...
