Windows 7 Gone on V570

Awhile ago, my son messed up the Windows 7 OS on his V570 Lenovo. Since there was no recovery disk including in the new carton, I installed an old Vista OS so he could keep doing his homework. But now he bought a new PC and I'd like to get the original Windows 7 OS back onto this PC. I don't see this in the support area but how do I get the original install disk for Windows 7 and reinstall the OS?

Thank you!

Re: Windows 7 Gone on V570

Thanks, I figured that. Instead I installed a Windows 7 upgrade I had bought a few years ago. It's now working fine EXCEPT the wireless adaptor and all tge wireless software comes up errors in the Device Manager. I installed all the 64 bit wireless software for the V570 from the Lenovo website. When that didn't help or work, I installed the driver from Intel's website. Also didn't work. There is some conflict clearly. Can you offer suggestions?

Thank you.

Re: Windows 7 Gone on V570

hi brucegz,

Under Device Manager rightclick on the wireless device and select properties

Send me the Hardware ID so we can check

here's how

By opening your Device Manager right click on one unknown device and choose properties,

    >On the properties windows Click on the Details Tab, on the property drop down Choose hadware IDs

     > then copy the value and post back here whats on the Value pane

Re: Windows 7 Gone on V570

Hi, I did those installs and now the Wireless Adaptor is not showing an error but it does say there is no wireless driver. I've attached the screens below showing the current Wimax 6150 that keeps loading (with error) and another screen saying there is no driver loaded. Also, there is an unknown device which I attached a screen print. Thanks very much for your continued help.

Re: Windows 7 Gone on V570

hi brucegz,

It seems that this is more complex.

Have you tried calling Lenovo Tech Team, They can remotely operate the computer and check the driver that will fit.

You can reach them at  8774536686 for US Customers.

Let me know your findings

Cheers!
