Hi ,

Greetings!

Here's a video guide on how you can check various settings for the touchpad.

If the settings are not available, make sure you have the latest drivers. You can download and install the available drivers from the Lenovo Vantage app. This video will guide you on how to get the latest drivers and BIOS With Lenovo Vantage.

Alternatively, you can manually download and install the drivers from our support website by entering your machine's serial number and clicking Drivers & Software (left panel) > Manual Update > selecting Mouse, Pen and Keyboard under Components category.

Let us know how things go.

Regards,
Maru

I have the same problem and I already have the latest drivers. Whenever I touch the touchpad to move the pointer, it thinks I am tapping so I keep closing windows inadvertently and once I accidentally deleted an item. I think all the features are active but I can't control them. When I click on "Additional settings" in the Touchpad Settings window, I get the Mouse Properties window but no Device Settings tab.

Re: l340 has no touchpad settings

I had the same overly touchy issue with my L340-171RH with an Elan touchpad. After much searching around I finally found out there is an app available that allows changes to the touchpad settings.

Open the Microsoft Store, search for ETDProperties and install it.

Then launch ETDProperties from the Start Menu.

Once opened click on Options... button - it opens up the Elan Smart-Pad box giving you access to various touchpad settings.

Select One-finger tab at the top, then select Tapping and uncheck the Enable box the click on the OK button. This disabled tapping which fixed my overly sensitive touchpad issue. Perhaps this or one of the other settings will fix your problem.

In my case, it didn't work because I got the message:

Unable to connect the ELAN Touching Device Driver.

Please install the ELAN Driver to enable the UI functions.

It must be a driver problem or a hardware problem but I do have the latest driver.
