v310 15ikb 80t3 ram and m.2 nvme ssd upgrade

im planning to upgrade my lenovo v310 15-IKB 80T3 pc from 4gb ram to 12 gb ram and add a m.2 nvme 240 gb (adata xpg sx8200 pro)

ssd are they compatible with the pc i have? Im not sure wich ram to buy psref says my 80T3000A** model pc has 4gb 2133 mhz soldered memory so does that mean i have to install 2133 mhz ram for it to work properly ? or if i install 2400 or 2666 mhz like lenovo pc support shows as compatible would it go down to 2133 mhz if so why even bother installing 2400 ram if it aint gonna matter? Could i install a used 8 gb 2400-2666 mhz ddr 4 rather than buying a new 2133 mhz ? and if ieven installed 2133 mhz ram would it still work? Is there anything more to consider than mhz and ddr type when buying a ram? there is timing and stuff so do i have to use the same brand ram inside my pc even if so how can i know what brand and timing my soldered ram has i just want to upgrade to 12 gb ram and i think this MBQ80T3 NOKI57200U DIS4GNOLNUL motherboard supports m.2 nvme gen3x4 ssd cuz i saw it as compatible on pc part support i dont know much about computers i just want my 12 gb ram and 240 gb ssd

Re: v310 15ikb 80t3 ram and m.2 nvme ssd upgrade

i did some more research and i will use 2133 mhz 8 gb SODIMM DDR4 ram. it should work

My pc's MTM is: 80T3000AAX

and i should have the
MBQ80T3 NOKI57200U DIS4GNOLNUL motherboard

the information i got from researching concludes that i should be able to use a PCLe gen 3x2 ssd

still im not sure enough it is complicated

please inform me about what parts are compatible with my system.

thanks for your answer

Re: v310 15ikb 80t3 ram and m.2 nvme ssd upgrade

Hi level1croock,

Thanks for the information.

The machine is capable of holding up to 16 GB maximum for RAM as confirmed by PSREF.

You can also use this link (page 85) for a complete list of the part numbers you can use for the SSD of the machine.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Jack_Lenovo1

Re: v310 15ikb 80t3 ram and m.2 nvme ssd upgrade

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-v-series-laptops/v310-15ikb/...

it shows it is compatible with PCLe.3x4

but in PSREF specs it show it is compatible with

Some: M.2 SSD / PCIe 3.0 x 2 or SATA 6.0Gb/s

and in maintnance manual page 85 it shows

non PCLe normal sata m.2 ssd i think thats one of the ones that could be included

im still not exactly sure what to buy

but it looks like m.2 slot supports PCLe 3x2

i did research and people had many problems making 3x4 work but i didnt see anybody have as much problem with 3x2

it would be so neat if i could get my hands on some certain information

still i will continue to research

thanks for your answer and effort to help

Re: v310 15ikb 80t3 ram and m.2 nvme ssd upgrade

i installed 8 gb 2133 mhz ram to my computer successfully now i have 12 gb of ram on my computer working fine now i need an ssd to complete my computer v310 15-ikb supports gen 3.0 x 2 m.2 but still

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-C-E-K-M-N-and-V-Series/V310-15-new-M-2-PCIe-SSD-lower-speeds/m-p...

this guy had problems with the x2 ssd any idea why ? im afraid of having the same issue
i would buy a m.2 sata ssd rather than having problems since its not that big of a improvement and it costs more

And we're back...

Move delayed but still coming
