Just checked again and I think the ThinkPad usb 3.0 Ultra Dock will do the job just fine. One USB 3.0 cable plugged into the left side of the T470s and into the Dock should give me all I need. Thanks for helping me solve this.

You will still need a power cable - either a Slim Tip on the left or a USB-C on the right.
You might want to consider the ThinkPad Ultra Dock, which gives you everything in a single connection.

I'm going for the Ultra Dock as it's a neat solution (and more than £100 cheaper on Amazon than direct from Lenovo). Yes, I read that it doesn't supply a charge to the laptop, which is a shame, as it would mean just a single item connected for pretty much everything.

So what does this mean?
Is it available in Australia?

I received my T470s in the US 4 days ago, and I can confirm that it does indeed work on all the existing 90W Ultra docking stations that work on the T440s, T440, T450s, T450, T460s and T460. Make sure to run Lenovo System update to apply any new docking station firmware. Sometimes requires 2 full reboot cycles to finish that process.
I believe battery life is a little better too, my previous T460s had the 2k screen and 20GB RAM with a Samsung 950 Pro 512GB installed after market, and no matter what I did for power settings, it sucked the juice. My T470s is a little more conservative with an FHD screen instead, 8GB and 256 NMve, and so far I've been working non stop for 8 hours using wifi, etc. and still have an hour left.
Pretty happy about all that. Wish there was indeed a more powerful docking station that could run 2 external 4k screens at 60hz, but maybe the next gen will support that.

Ambidextrous power! The T470s can be powered by EITHER a slim-tip power adapter OR a USB-C power adapter. Nice for itinerant IT people and anyone suddenly needing juice - grab what's available! Also makes the transition to USB-C smoother if you already have slim-tip adapters - you can keep using them .
Edit: I was reminded that there is a THIRD way to power the T470s: Through the docking port, and any one of the current ThinkPad docks.
