I believe you are correct. I don't recall seeing the MicroSD card slot behind the screen as I have with other models. Its not listed on PSREF yet but I don't have listed as a port or expension from my notes at CES.

Does anybody know if they will still offer the 2k HDR Dolby Vision screen with this new gen?
I think from the YouTube videos I've seen, they do mention 2k screens as an option - they just don't mention if it's HDR...
I'm assuming there would still be a battery hit with the 4k option?

I believe the Gen 4 Yoga is forcast for a June 2019 release, due to this its not yet on Lenovo PSREF so I am unable to give a definative answer.
The specs on the Gen 3 can be seen here though. - http://psref.lenovo.com/Product/Think_Tablets_and_Convertibles/ThinkPad_X1_Yoga_3rd_Gen
Keep an eye on http://psref.lenovo.com/ closer to the time for a definative answer 👍

So.... after some further research, it looks like the Dolby Vision version of the display for the Gen 4 will be limited to the 4k version only. The 2k display will be available as a 300 nit version - so I guess non HDR? Not too sure about that.
A lot of compromises made on this new Gen for me - so I'm probably going to pick up a 3rd gen and stick with that now.
1. 4k display
2. Non retracting keyboard to accomodate the USB-C Side Dock.
3. SMALLER Battery - but you get smaller footprint and less weight... So Yay?? This is really going to make life with the 4k screen totally awesome...
1. 32 Gb RAM is now an option.
2. HDMI 2.0
3. Improved Speakers
None of these is worth the reduced battery size IMHO...
