Hello,

are there any updates on when exactly the new models will be available?

Thanks and regards

Wish we could give you the exact date. Based on what we know sales for the X1C9 start in Feb. Gotta keep refreshing... Sorry.

Any updates?

It's end of february and some people need to make decision on purchasing (maybe for their companies).

Systems will be announced on the sales site in different countries usually 2-3 weeks before they become available to order, you can also use the PSREF to view some configurations which may be offered in different markets. Corporate customers can probably find out more exact information through their Lenovo Representative or Reseller.

Germany - X1 Gen. 9 page to keep an eye on

PSREF - filter the Region to find WE and checkout different model specifications

Hi

I'm wondering - how retail price could grow twice since CES2021?
For example - several sources published prices from 1429$:

https://www.pcmag.com/news/lenovo-teases-thinnest-ever-thinkpad

https://www.anandtech.com/show/16392/ces-2021-lenovo-thinkpad-x1-lineup-new-designs-new-displays

But now we see prices starting from 2819$ - https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpad-x1/X1-Carbon-G9/p/22TP2X1X1C9

Whats happened???

We were waiting more than a month and planned to purchase for about 15-20 laptops. We'we allocated budget for this. BUT right now - I do not understand how can I expalin that situation.

I'd like to get some info that is not available in your spec sheet but it is an important aspect of your implementation of Tiger Lake in this laptop.

Is the CPU allowed to work up to a 28W TDP during/for at least burst tasks? Or, are you capping it around 15-20W? The latter would be bad news.

Would highly appreciate a reply from a product technologist familiar with the SKU.

Thanks

@mrtn1 , I don't have an official answer for you. But I received a week ago my X1 Gen9 with a i7-1165G7. If the CPU is under full load thermal throttling is a real thing. It does easily reach the 100°C and there the frequencies drop. I did see that with VMs, an antivirus full scan etc. Therefore, not knowing if my CPU can use the whole 28W of max TDP, thermal throttling will quickly jump in and reduce frequencies (and the back part get very hot because of the change of design having the vents out in the back).

Any idea on WWAN for Australia with the Gen9?

Also saw the website change from 5G capable to 4G now? Is this true, that there's not 5G coming on the gen9?
