Most of us bought chromebooks though a 3rd party vender like CDWG.  Lenovo doesn't know who you are unless you contact them directly with issues.  Dell would be no different.

All,

 

I appreciate everybody is concerned about this issue, we are as well, and would like to apologize for any inconvenience.  This (my) evening I've been working on a strategy to best ensure everybody experiencing this issue on multiple systems receives the assistance they deserve, and that, as promptly as is possible. I hope to have a process in place possibly in the next hours or at the very latest Monday (my) morning. (My geo is Central Europe).

I filled that form out. It doesn't seem to know about chromebooks so it gave me instructions on resetting by pressing buttons which don't exist. I googled the actual factory reset but it hasn't fixed the problem.

our rep help us out getting in touch with lenovo's team and our issue in been addressed, my advise is to get your rep to address it with lenovo since they have better channels to address this issue.

CDW:G suggested I extend our warranty on the machines.  
Lenovo suggests I repo the units (which the kids can at least use with external keyboards now) and ship them back for repair per the regular warranty stuff.

Andy is my only hope!  Thanks Andy!   

I'm really hoping they just ship me some ribbon cables, or what not, and I just put them in.  Last year I had to wait for some contract guy to show up, it was not fun.

OK, I have tried every other avenue to get help. I'll try here too. We bought 950+ Lenovo N22's for our 1:1 program this summer. Every day we get 4-8 machines returned to us because these keys aren't working. T/Y, 5/6, 2WSX, and sometimes others. We sent in about 20 units 6 weeks ago and just go a few back, but those had other issues. We were able to talk someone into giving us 30 keyboards. We replaced them and it worked. We already had 20, so we have replaced 50 on our own. However, now I am out and I can't get anyone to send us more. I have 25 units stacked up to replace keyboards for, and that number continues to grow as I type this. I CAN NOT AFFORD TO KEEP SENDING THESE IN FOR REPAIR since I am responsible. I already used my entire shipping budget for that in the first month. I just need keyboards. I have a crew waiting to install them. By the time this is said and done, I am guessing I will have to replace all these keyboards. Obviously, this is a manufacturers defect. I am now out of spares and soon I will have students who do not have a Chromebook with no way of getting them one. Please help!

wlrocke, that's the most infuriating thing about this whole mess - they have a design flaw that they are aware of, and yet you have to pay shipping to have it fixed

Lenovo has offerd our school free on site repair for any keyboard that doesn't work until further notice.

 

I was referd to the Lenovo Critical Situations Resolutions Team after contacting my reginal Education Account Executive for Lenovo.

 

They also said to not send anymore chrombooks in with this issue.  There doing a great job at fixing this.

 

We also bought ours from CDWG.

We are having the same issue.  We purchased 850 N22 Chromebooks and have been waiting weeks to have units returned.  Trying to escalate to the next level now.

edit: Tried posting this here, but was burried to a 'Special interests'  sub forum ...this is about a N22 thank you for keeping it in the N22 forum.

 

 

Good afternoon, we are three months into our 1:1 deployment. We are reaching ten percent of our machines sent out to repair the keyboard issues mentionned in the other threads, with well over two/three week turnaround on most. 

 

Is there a way to have a Lenovo representative get in touch with us about a solution other than sending every one of these devices in by year end?

 

Would love to have an official answer for our parents as this is not the best introduction to Lenovo for these folks.
