I found a couple of 'fixes' for the SD Card sticking out so far. I was looking for a 'fix' because (1) I don't like it sticking out, too easy to hit and maybe break off, and (2) I got tired of accidentally hitting it reaching for something on that side and getting the message "Oops, you should eject the device before removing it."
1. "BASEQI Low Profile Micro SD Adapter" (for Raspberry Pi), also called the "Pi Drive Pi-100." It is half the length of a standard SD Card and sits flush with the chassis when plugged in. It has a little lip to catch with a thumb nail or 1/8" flat blade screwdriver to remove it if need be.
2. "Transcend 64GB JetDrive Lite 330 Storage Expansion Card" (for 13" MacBook Pro). It sticks out about 1 mm with a flared end that makes it wast to pullit out when need be. they also make 128GB and 256 GB versions.
I purchased them both through Amazon, but I am sure they are available elsewhere as well.
