Can I upgrade the GPU to GTX 1050 4gb or 2gb (H520s)

2018-07-21, 15:33 PM

The picture is the exact same model and specs of my computer and I want to upgrade my GPU from GT 630 2gb to GTX 1050 2/4gb. My question is, is the motherboard of this model compatible with a GTX 1050.

Yes, according to one owner on this forum, GTX 1050 does work on H520s (with sufficiently sized power supply.)  Memory size on the graphics card is of no concern providing you are using a 64-bit Operating System.

I suggest you consider upgrading to a GT 1030 (DDR5 memory), as it is a similar wattage card to your GT 630 (30w), but has 3x the performance.

GTX 1050 is a 75w card and would involve upgrading the power supply, which is complicated by the 'Slim' form factor of this system.

I forgot to mention that I will also upgrade my PSU. So if I upgrade my PSU the motherboard would not be an issue?
