Hello, I tried to create a recovery disk using Lenovo utility, but this program says that it will require 32 DVDs! why does it require so many DVDs? it there an alternative. I understand that this procedure would create installable Windows 7 OEM specific to my K330 configuration.

Exactly, that is what I thought, but it is asking for 32 DVDs! It could be great if someone from Lenovo could offer some insight. I don't know if this happens because I did a system backup (using Lenovo supplied tools) before attempting to create the recovery disks.

I was not trying to save the system backup to DVDs, but executing the "Create Recovery Disk" tool from Lenovo, that's when I saw that it would be required 31 DVDs, I don't understand why so many discs for a Windows 7 HP and a few apps and some drivers. The OEM partition according to Windows disk manager takes 25.07GB. The tool description says "creates bootable disks from system backup of factory defaults image", and it does not give me the option to choose Factory Defaults, that why I suspect that it is trying to use my system backup instead of the OEM partition.

i think you have to use the backup when you first get the pc to get the defult backup disc, you cant pick what parts to backup now you have been using it for a while (installing games, programs, videos, pictures etc) all of these things get intergrated into windows when they get installed and therefore a backup would need all parts

Yes, that is correct. I had the chance to test it when I bought my 2nd K330 PC, System Backup required only 3 DVDs before any Windows updates.
Whatever the case, this backup tool should have the option to create a backup from factory partition, which is not affected by windows updates or further software installations.
