Error 1962

2020-02-06, 14:59 PM

Bought a new Desktop for a friend in December and now it keeps showing the Error 1962 message and will not boot. Have gone into the Bios and the right drive is selected.

Hi

Welcome to Community Forums!

Check if the Hard Drive is still detected in BIOS.

If HDD is detected, you can do the Solution done from this thread  and this with similar error.

If the Steps provided on the threads above will not work you can follow the steps provided below.

NOTE: Please follow the steps exactly as it is without doing any other side settings that could worsen the problem.

  1. First of all, when you have been faced with Error 1962: No Operating System Found, press and hold the key combination of Ctrl + Alt + Delete. This will reboot your system.
  2. In order to enter the BIOS setup, press the F12 several times in a row.
  3. A little box will appear on your screen and you will see the word Setup written in it. Hit Enter.
  4. At the top of the screen select the Start Up tab.
  5. After this, go ahead and select CSM and hit Now select the Enabled option.
  6. Go down a little and locate Boot Priority, after which hit Enter. Now change the current option of Legacy First to UEFI First.
  7. Finally, press the F10 key and choose YES to save changes done.

Let us know how it goes

Regards,

Re:Error 1962

I have only owned my Lenovo IdeaCentre 510A since last March.  I also have a work Thinkpad as well as a personal Dell 2 in1 laptop, so needless to say my Lenovo Desktop never really got a lot of use in the last year.  Maybe a few times a month I would use it and then all of a sudden start getting 1962 error.  I am shocked that  now i have to figure out how to fix this on my own, Lenovo should be ashamed to put out this product that, based on what i can find online, a lot of people are having this problem. I have tried the BIOS updates with no luck.  So now what do I do?

Tried this (twice) and still no boot. Still receiving the Error 1962 message. Any other suggestions before I take it to a shop?
