I know you can install cards like the Nvidia GTX 1050Ti (single fan models) such as this one that only call for a 300 watt power supply, they will work just fine on your H50-55 without replacing the existing 280w power supply, so it is a simple swap. If you want to move to graphic cards that require 400 watts or greater PSUs like the GTX 1060 etc, you would need to upgrade your PSU, which is possible, but requires a 24-14 pin adapter to connect it to the Lenovo system/motherboard such as this one, and once installed the system will not power off the PSU completely like it does now, so you will have to use a powers strip to disconnect the power, or get a PSU with a power switch.

You do not need to change out your PSU to install the GTX 1050Ti. Even though Nvidia recommends a 300 watt PSU, I can personally confirm that the existing 280 watt PSU in a H50 will work just fine, because I am typing on a system running the GTX 1050ti 4GB on the same 280 watt Lenovo PSU right now.
